Family Selection

Family Selection
The Greater Lewis County Habitat for Humanity expects to begin the family selection process in February. We have begun construction of the new home at 24 SW 11th Street in Chehalis. Families that have requested to be notified when the selection process begins will receive a letter detailing when and where the initial selection meeting will take place. An announcement will also be published in the local media.

Habitat for Humanity Storage Building

Storage Bldg
Your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate now has a suitable place to store and protect home building supplies and donated construction material. With the new building we now have a single facility to store items instead of renting space. Thanks to the Port of Chehalis we were able to lease a lot at a significant discount. Plans for this year include having a Habitat for Humanity “Garage Sale” at our new location. Check back for details.

Rotary Club of Chehalis

The Rotary Club of Chehalis recently approved a $7,000.00 grant to be used to cover the cost of excavation and pouring of the foundation for a new home in Chehalis. Rotary has also committed volunteers to help with the home construction.

Weyerhaeuser Donation

Thanks to the efforts of Amy, our grants coordinator, and Bre Wells from Weyerhaeuser’s North Washington Region, the Greater Lewis County Habitat for Humanity affiliate has received a donation of $10,000.00. This significant donation will go a long way in our efforts to build affordable housing for a local low-income family.
